Uzbekistan Ranks 58th in Global Firepower Index
Earlier, Uzbekistan’s Armed Forces secured the 58th spot in the Global Firepower Index, which ranks military strength worldwide, marking a notable improvement with a 7-place rise from the previous year.

In January, Mirshohid Aslanov, Director of the Center for Progressive Reforms, pointed out that Uzbekistan's military potential is often underestimated due to a lack of comprehensive official data and outdated information in international rankings such as Global Firepower.
He stressed that factors like reserve forces, budget distribution, logistics infrastructure, modernization initiatives, and energy independence should be more accurately represented to offer a full and precise assessment of the nation's military capabilities.
Uzbekistan has been modernizing its military, investing in new equipment, missile systems, cyber defense, and electronic warfare capabilities, which global rankings often fail to report. The country's military also benefits from international training and exercises, enhancing its preparedness. Geographically, Uzbekistan plays a key role in regional security, aided by its energy independence, allowing it to sustain military operations without external resources.
Furthermore, Uzbekistan’s actual defense budget is around $3bn, reflecting the country's commitment to military modernization. Its strong economic position, with a purchasing power parity of $319bn, enables continued investment in its military infrastructure and technology.
