President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan welcomed Abdulhamid Al-Khalifa, President of the OPEC Fund for International Development, on May 1, as part of the activities of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, the presidential press service reported.
During the meeting, President Mirziyoyev acknowledged the significant role played by the OPEC Fund in advancing sustainable development goals and expressed deep appreciation for the fund's support in financing various business projects across Uzbekistan. These projects span key sectors such as industry, infrastructure, and water supply, contributing to the country's socio-economic development.
Particular attention was drawn to the importance of expediting the preparation and implementation of projects outlined in a recently signed agreement valued at $500 mn. This agreement aims to foster practical cooperation in emerging sectors such as tourism, logistics, pharmaceuticals, environmental conservation, promotion of women's entrepreneurship, and support for youth initiatives.
