As of June 2025, the prices of 105 goods and services in Uzbekistan have surged by more than 10%, according to data released by the Central Bank.
The annual inflation rate in June stood at 8.7%, but a closer look at the figures shows that 21% of tracked goods and services experienced price hikes exceeding 10%.
Among food items, cottonseed oil recorded the steepest price increase, soaring 43.5% over the past year. Cabbage and potatoes also became significantly more expensive, rising by 37.4% and 36.5%.
Prices of meat products saw major hikes as well, with mutton increasing by 32% and beef by 30.5%. Sunflower oilalso went up by 28.9%.
Outside the food sector, methane gas saw the largest jump among non-food items, rising by 36.2% in just one month. Other products that experienced above-average inflation include:
- Vitamins – up 12.5%
- Antibiotics – up 11.8%
- Antihistamines – up 11.8%
- Propane – up 11.3%
- Perfumed soap – up 10.3%
Despite the ongoing rise in service-related costs over the past 18 months, the Central Bank's analysis did not specify any service categories whose prices increased by more than 10%. The report also did not disclose details on the remaining 93 goods and services affected by double-digit price hikes.
Public expectations for further price increases remain elevated. According to a Central Bank survey, 13.2% inflation is anticipated over the next 12 months. Additionally, 50% of respondents expect utility bills to rise sharply, while 45% foresee higher fuel and energy prices in the near future.
