The Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a meeting with Keshav Rajpal and Tomasz Kapela, heads of Biologic International, to discuss the development of a joint project aimed at producing biofuel, biofertilizers, and food ingredients.
The project, with an investment of $450mn in its first phase, aims to actively engage local suppliers and involve small and medium-sized enterprises across Uzbekistan. This local participation is expected to bolster the nation’s economy while promoting sustainable practices.
During the meeting, the representatives of Biologic International shared insights from their recent exploratory visit to Kokand. They assessed the newly established technopark and evaluated the existing infrastructure and utilities, crucial for optimizing production activities in subsequent project stages.
Kudratov emphasized the importance of the project in supporting Uzbekistan’s environmental goals, as the company is committed to maintaining high standards of a closed-loop economy and reducing carbon emissions. He reaffirmed the government’s support for the initiative, highlighting that attracting foreign investment is essential for enhancing ecological sustainability in the region.
Biologic International, recognized as a leader in biofuel and bioproduct innovations, specializes in sustainable, low-carbon solutions. The firm’s focus on biofuel, biofertilizers, and food ingredients positions it at the forefront of both the renewable energy and agriculture sectors, making this collaboration a pivotal step towards Uzbekistan’s transition to sustainable energy sources.
