The second international conference on marketplaces was held with the support of the National Agency of Prospective Projects (NAPP), the World Bank, and key industry organizations such as the Association of Sellers of Uzbekistan, the Electronic Commerce Association, the Committee for the Development of Competition and the Protection of Consumer Rights, and the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.
The event featured exhibitions and panel discussions that brought together representatives from government agencies, industry experts, and business leaders across Central Asia. Key topics included the latest trends in e-commerce, market promotion strategies, and innovative solutions for enhancing the region's digital commerce landscape.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vyacheslav Pak, the first deputy director of the National Agency of Prospective Projects, emphasized the need for regulatory improvements to support e-commerce.
"The agency has much work ahead to improve legislation and regulate processes within the framework of electronic commerce. We are holding numerous meetings with market participants, business representatives, residents, and foreign investors to gather their input on the challenges hindering industry growth," he said.
The agency is currently conducting market research and reviewing existing legal documents to identify obstacles to e-commerce development. Pak highlighted the agency’s efforts to introduce mechanisms that encourage exports through online trading platforms and develop robust e-commerce ecosystems within Uzbekistan.
By providing a platform for education, networking, and innovation, the conference allowed participants to gain valuable insights into emerging e-commerce trends, sharpen their skills, and expand business connections.
