Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that the salary for teachers is set to reach $1,000. This initiative aims to enhance the educational sector and was revealed during a meeting on September 30. Starting from the next academic year, a new certification system will be introduced for teachers, aligning with international standards. This system is expected to raise the quality of education by establishing clear benchmarks for educator performance.
Teachers who achieve a score of 86 points or higher on the certification test will qualify for a 70% salary increase. This measure is designed to reward educators for their performance and dedication to improving educational outcomes.
President Mirziyoyev also proposed that the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan increase the number of teachers sent to sanatoriums and recreational facilities by 100%. This recommendation is part of a broader strategy to support the well-being of educators.
In addition to improvements for school teachers, university rectors have been instructed to raise the number of vouchers for sanatoriums available to professors and instructors by 50%. Funding for these wellness initiatives will be sourced from university development funds.
Furthermore, during discussions with education workers, Uzbekistan's leader announced that starting next academic year, kindergarten directors will receive bonuses for possessing a management certification. This initiative aims to enhance leadership standards within early childhood education.
