Coca-Cola İçecek (CCI) launched its third production plant in Kazakhstan's Shymkent, with an investment of KZT 27bn ($56.1mn). The new facility, covering 16 hectares near the Zhuldyz industrial zone, is expected to increase CCI’s annual production capacity by 283mn litres, representing a 30% expansion. This development will also create 150 jobs and additional employment in related sectors such as logistics, equipment maintenance, and raw material supply.
In addition to the Shymkent plant, CCI operates production facilities in Astana and Bereke village in the Almaty Region. The company’s regional director, Erdinç Güzel, noted that since 1994, CCI’s total investment in Kazakhstan has reached KZT 106bn ($220.3mn). He also highlighted the company's contributions to Kazakhstan’s economy, with taxes and mandatory payments amounting to KZT 259bn ($538.4mn) since 2013. Furthermore, CCI’s total contribution to Kazakhstan’s GDP stands at KZT 475bn ($987.4mn)
The official opening, held on September 13, was attended by key officials, including Shymkent Mayor Gabit Syzdykbekov, Türkiye's Consul General in Turkistan İlker Pak, U.S. Consul General Michelle Yerkin, and Ainur Zhumanbayeva from Kazakh Invest. Zhumanbayeva emphasized the importance of the new plant for economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, adding that Kazakh Invest is considering additional plant projects in other regions of the country.
CCI is a multinational beverage company with operations in 12 countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, and the Kyrgyz Republic. The company operates 33 bottling plants and three fruit processing facilities, employing over 10,000 people across its network.
