A collaboration has been established between IT Park Uzbekistan and the Korea Association for ICT Promotion (KAIT) with the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement, formalized during a meeting led by IT Park Executive Director Abdulahad Kuchkarov and KAIT’s Executive Vice Chairman & CEO Changhee Lee, aims to enhance bilateral relations and foster growth in the IT sector of both countries.
Established in 1987, KAIT is a non-profit organization affiliated with South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT). It plays a crucial role in advancing digital and ICT industries by providing policy support, facilitating joint projects, and serving as a bridge between government and industry stakeholders. KAIT’s mission focuses on national digital development and enhancing public benefits through collaboration and a strengthened membership base.
The MoU outlines several key areas of cooperation:
- Experience Sharing: Promoting knowledge exchange between the IT sectors of both countries.
- Business Attraction: Supporting the entry of IT companies into both markets and encouraging global outsourcing.
- Expansion of Opportunities: Enhancing business prospects for members and facilitating the exchange of administrative and technical personnel, consultants, and experts.
- Marketing and Events: Collaborating on marketing activities, including exhibitions like the World IT Show, conferences, forums, and other events.
This partnership is set to act as a catalyst for stronger bilateral relations and growth in the IT industries of both nations. Uzbekistan’s multilingual workforce and high literacy rate present valuable opportunities for Korean tech companies, while the collaboration will enable local specialists to enhance their skills and increase their market demand.
