    Qatari IT firm AST to open new development center in Uzbekistan

    Qatari IT company AST, operating under the Gem Soft brand, has announced the opening of a new development center in Uzbekistan. This new initiative, named DevTeam International Software is set to become a pivotal hub for the development of global software products in Central Asia.

    The new center will focus on creating innovative software solutions tailored to the needs of large corporations and state-owned enterprises in the region. DevTeam International Software aims to build scalable and secure communications platforms, leveraging the expertise and technology that have previously driven the success of Gem Soft's Gem Space super app. This app, which integrates secure chat and calling features, is currently utilized in over 125 countries worldwide.

    “Over the past few years, Uzbekistan has come a long way in the development of its own IT products and the digital economy as a whole. We closely monitor the successes of many companies based in IT Park and beyond. We have now decided to strengthen our presence in this promising region and unanimously chose Uzbekistan to open a new headquarters. I am confident that this will be the beginning of a wonderful and fruitful cooperation,” said Gem Soft CEO Akmal Zhamalov.
