The official opening ceremonies of BMB Agro Plus and BMB Impex enterprises took place in the Sharof Rashidov district of the Jizzakh region as reported by press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. These enterprises are part of the broader BMB-NRC agro logistics complex, the first stage of which was launched in November 2023.
The BMB Agro Plus enterprise, which has a total investment of $34.6mn, is being developed with loan funds from Uzsanoatkurilish bank. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology from leading manufacturers in Belgium, Austria, Italy, Turkey and China, the facility is designed to process more than 40,000 tons of fruits and vegetables annually.
The facility can process 21,000 tons of fruit and vegetable products annually, dry 12,500 tons of produce, and produce 5,000 tons of raw materials for products such as purees, jams and tomato-based items. Additionally, the facility has the capacity to sort 50,000 tons of leguminous products and freeze 1,500 tons of products using both shock and acoustic freezing methods.
The project is structured in two phases. The first phase focuses on the primary deep processing of fruits and vegetables including the production and drying of jams, preserves, purees and pastes. The second phase will see the introduction of sublimation drying lines, as well as shock and acoustic freezing processes.
Moreover, the BMB Agro Plus project is expected to create over 400 new jobs in the region, contributing significantly to local employment and economic development. Alongside the launch of BMB Agro Plus, the BMB Impex enterprise was also officially inaugurated which specializes in the storage and distribution of agricultural products.
