President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Juzimbag neighborhood in Kegeili district, Republic of Karakalpakstan, where he engaged with the local community and assessed development efforts. The neighborhood, home to approximately 4,300 residents, has made strides in employment, education, and agriculture.
Residents are employed across various sectors, including three schools, six kindergartens, and over seventy businesses. Additionally, 990 households have homesteads specializing in livestock and agriculture. Drawing from the successful model of Saykhunabad, local resources have been harnessed to boost agricultural productivity. Notably, 128 hectares of land were allocated to 174 citizens, enabling them to farm and supplement their income.
The Orol Agro company has organized a youth vineyard. This initiative provided forty young individuals with an average of 25 acres of land each. The vineyard, cultivated using the "voish" method, makes efficient use of the inter-rows for growing various vegetables, producing up to 400 tons of crops. Once the vineyard reaches full yield, it is expected to generate approximately 200 tons of grapes annually, valued at UZS 4bn ($315,985).
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev met with young farmers and praised their efforts. He expressed his satisfaction with their progress and emphasized his commitment to the well-being of his people.
"My biggest goal is to please my people and see them happy. What we are doing is correct; we just need to expand it," he stated.
In response to the youth's suggestions, the president instructed the construction of a cold storage facility for agricultural products and provided support for weddings and contract payments for those in need.
