Uzcharmsanoat, a key player in Uzbekistan's leather, footwear, and fur industries, has partnered with Vitebsk State Technological University of Belarus to enhance specialist training in these sectors.
A memorandum of cooperation was recently signed to focus on the training and retraining of skilled professionals through collaborative educational programs. The agreement aims to address the growing need for qualified personnel in Uzbekistan’s leather industry by leveraging Vitebsk State Technological University's extensive educational resources.
The university currently supports 43,000 students across 20 bachelor's and 8 master's degree programs, guided by a dedicated team of 300 faculty members.
The partnership underscores a commitment to developing a highly skilled workforce to meet the evolving demands of Uzbekistan's leather and related industries.
Established on February 23, 2000, the Association “Uzcharmsanoat” emerged from the reorganization of the joint-stock company "Uzbekcharmi" into “Uzbekcharmpoyabzali.” On May 3, 2018, it was renamed “Uzcharmsanoat” under a new presidential decree.
Uzcharmsanoat now includes organizations across the leather, fur, and wool industries. Its main goals are to support production from raw material processing to finished products, promote advanced technologies and modernization, and expand domestic and export markets. The association also conducts market research, integrates new technologies, and collaborates with educational and scientific institutions while protecting the rights of its members.
