Karavan-SK, a Russian company specializing in leather production for footwear, is set to venture into the Tashkent region to establish a finished leather manufacturing facility. The initiative was revealed by the press service of Uzcharmsanoat.
Fakhriddin Boboev, the director of the association, conducted negotiations with a delegation from Karavan-SK to discuss the prospects of implementing a project for the deep processing of raw hides.
The project, focused on the small industrial zone in the Akhangaran region, aims to specialize in the production of leather shoes and fur products. The planned investment for this venture is $4.5mn.
Founded in 1976 and headquartered in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia, Karavan-SK has a strong background in leather production for the footwear industry.
Earalier Daryo reported that the Russian leather brand Tavro has expressed interest in entering the Uzbekistan market. In a meeting between company executives and representatives of the association, discussions revolved around initiating investment cooperation. The visitors acknowledged the vibrant expansion of the leather and footwear industry in Uzbekistan, noting the increasing interest among Russian companies in this sector.
