Telegram founder Pavel Durov has announced a series of new security measures designed to protect users from cryptocurrency scams. These measures aim to enhance transparency and trust within the Telegram community.
One of the key updates includes the introduction of visible registration dates and the primary country of public accounts. This feature aims to provide users with more information about the accounts they interact with, thereby reducing the risk of falling victim to fraudulent schemes. Additionally, Telegram plans to allow organizations to utilize widgets for labeling channels. This initiative is expected to create a decentralized market for third-party verification, increasing the credibility of publications and channels on the platform.
To further improve user experience and security, Telegram will launch a mini-app store and integrate a built-in browser with Web3 support. These additions will expand the functionality of the app, offering users access to the latest technologies and a more seamless browsing experience.
In a related effort to combat economic crimes, the Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan recently introduced a Telegram bot designed to fight the shadow economy. This tool enables citizens to report violations in various sectors, including taxes, inspections, payments, benefits, construction, pharmaceuticals, wholesale trade, and agriculture.
