The American company C&N Associates has announced plans to build a "smart city" in Nurafshan, Uzbekistan. This project, estimated to cost between $10-15bn, was revealed by the press service of the Tashkent regional khokimiyat (city administration).
The regional khokim (mayor), Zoir Mirzayev, welcomed a delegation led by Ronald James Hubbard, the director of C&N Associates. During this high-level meeting, the guests presented their comprehensive project proposal for developing the smart city in the administrative center of the region. The project is set to span an impressive 1,600 hectares and aims to integrate various modern infrastructure and technological advancements to enhance the living standards of its residents.
The proposed smart city will house numerous government organizations and enterprises, medical institutions, and educational facilities. The integration of these critical services aims to create a self-sustaining urban environment that fosters growth and development. Additionally, industrial zones and technology parks will be established to generate employment opportunities for local residents, thereby boosting the region's economic prospects.
One of the primary initiatives under this project is the construction of a plant dedicated to producing building materials from local raw materials. This plant is expected to not only support the construction activities within the smart city but also stimulate the local economy by leveraging regional resources.
Enhancing connectivity between Tashkent and Nurafshan is another key aspect of this project.
This improved connectivity is anticipated to further integrate Nurafshan into the broader economic framework of Uzbekistan.
During the discussions, C&N Associates outlined their strategy to attract over 15 partners and investors to support the development of the smart city. This collaborative approach aims to pool expertise and resources from various stakeholders to ensure the project's successful implementation. Following the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed, formalizing the commitment of both parties to the listed areas of development.
With over 40 years of experience in designing and constructing residential and commercial properties, C&N Associates brings a wealth of expertise to the table. The company's portfolio includes projects for airports, hotels, universities, and shopping facilities.
