Uzbekistan is set to establish a trade house in Chechnya by the end of 2024, aiming to strengthen economic ties between the two nations.
Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia, Botirjon Asadov, confirmed the initiative following discussions with Rustam Shaptukaev, Deputy Chairman of the Government and Minister of Economic and Territorial Development of Chechnya.
According to Shaptukaev, preparations are underway in Grozny to finalize the location for the trade house, which will be accompanied by an official presentation. The facility will serve as a showcase for Uzbek products, with a focus on textiles.
The opening of the trade house will significantly enhance cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan, facilitating the launch of new joint projects.
Ambassador Asadov highlighted the historical foundations of the bilateral relationship, emphasizing the longstanding success and trust between the two countries.
"Our relations are built on trust and friendship, underpinned by the close ties between our presidents," he remarked.
Discussions during the meeting also covered prospects for enhancing bilateral relations, Uzbekistan’s participation in upcoming events such as KIF-2024, and plans for future bilateral meetings and exchanges.
On May 27, Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya, arrived in Tashkent, Uzbekistan with a delegation to attend the Council of the Regions meeting between Russia and Uzbekistan.
Kadyrov expressed his pleasure at the efforts of the two countries leaders to strengthen relations, stating:
"I am confident that our joint work will elevate regional interaction between Russia and Uzbekistan and contribute to mutually beneficial cooperation."
