Kyrgyzstan imported 145.9 mn cubic meters of natural gas in 1Q24, which is 9.3% more than the 133.6 mn cubic meters imported during the same period in 2023. The value of these imports reached $21.9 mn, compared to $20 mn in January-February of the previous year.
Kyrgyzstan imported 130 mn cubic meters of natural gas from Russia, amounting to $19.5 mn, and 15.8 mn cubic meters from Uzbekistan, totalling $2.4 mn.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover for 2M24 totalled $2.3 bn, showing a 28.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023, which stood at $1.8 bn. Exports during this period reached $307.5 mn, marking an 18.4% increase from January–February 2023 ($259.7 mn), while imports amounted to $1.9 bn, up 30% from $1.5 bn in the corresponding months of 2023.
Earlier, Daryo reported that Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) member countries reached$2.1 bn in 2023, Sanzhar Bolotov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the country, during the Ministerial Meeting of SPECA in Bangkok reports. The nation's trade turnover with the SPECA countries increased by 1.9 times from 2019 through 2023.
