Adylbek Kasymaliev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, has reaffirmed the nation's commitment to enhancing its education system through collaboration with international development partners. Speaking at the 49th Annual Meeting of the Governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Kasymaliev underscored Kyrgyzstan's dedication to improving its education sector, particularly in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 4: Quality Education.
Highlighting Kyrgyzstan's recent global standing, Kasymaliev proudly announced that the country secured the 45th position out of 166 nations worldwide in 2023 concerning the Sustainable Development Goals, positioning itself as a regional leader among Central Asian countries.
During his address at the forum of the Arab Coordination Group, which centered on initiatives for financing intellectual education (SmartEd), Kasymaliev emphasized Kyrgyzstan's successful history of collaboration with both the Islamic Development Bank and the various funds within the Arab Coordination Group.
He outlined the strategic vision of Kyrgyzstan, which identified the enhancement of SDG No. 4 as a primary objective until 2030, recognizing its potential to catalyze progress across other Sustainable Development Goals.
Kasymaliev elaborated on the Altyn Kazyk program initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science, designed to modernize the education system comprehensively. The program encompasses transitioning to a 12-year education system, procuring top-quality textbooks in STEM subjects, digitizing educational processes, facilitating the professional development of educators, and streamlining management through digitalization.
According to Kasymaliev, the implementation of the Altyn Kazyk program will significantly enhance opportunities for the development of children and youth while bolstering the competitiveness of Kyrgyzstan's younger generation in the labor market.
Concluding his remarks, Kasymaliev reiterated Kyrgyzstan's unwavering commitment to collaborating with international development partners in the field of education, signaling the country's openness to leveraging global expertise and resources for educational advancement.
The event, attended by the President of the Islamic Development Bank and heads of funds within the Arab Coordination Group, including the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, OPEC Development Fund, and Abu Dhabi Development Fund, underscored the collective commitment to fostering educational progress and sustainable development in Kyrgyzstan and beyond.
