Uzbekistan exported 8,000 tons of tomatoes, totalling $8.7 mn in revenue in 1Q24, the State Statistics Agency reports. This figure represents a 33.3% decline compared to the 12,000 tons exported during the same period in 2023. Specifically, in March 2024, tomato exports amounted to 2,900 tons.
In 2023, Uzbekistan exported 57,500 tons of tomatoes worth $44 mn. This amount shows a decrease of 24.7% from the 76,400 tons exported in 2022.
Uzbekistan exported 375,300 tons of fruits and vegetables, valued at $219.8 mn from January through March 2024, marking a significant increase of 72.4% over the 157,700 tons exported in the same period of 2023.
The largest volume of Uzbekistan's horticultural products in early 2024 was exported to Pakistan, totalling 79,100 tons worth $57.6 mn. Russia was the second-largest importer with 85,500 tons valued at $55.1 mn, and Kazakhstan followed, importing 86,100 tons worth $23 mn during this period.
