Rysgal Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (Turkmenistan) plans to widely introduce Internet banking and Mobile banking payment systems, local TV channel Altyn Asyr reports.
The issue was discussed at a government meeting. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that according to the State Programme for the Development of the Digital Economy of Turkmenistan for 2021-2025, special importance is attached to increasing the volume of cashless payments.
"At the same time, consistent improvement of payment systems and regular expansion of types of digital banking services are a necessary condition."
Experts told Daryo that Rysgal collaborates with the transnational financial corporation MasterCard - four types of contactless payment cards have been launched: Platinum, Gold, Standard and Maestro.
The bank represents the interests of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, which previously received $1.5bn from the state budget to build the new city of Arkadag in the country's Akhal region.
Before that, the association received a $2.3bn state loan to build the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat motorway and $600mn to build a mining plant in Lebap region.
