The state concern Türkmenhimiýa plans to establish cooperation with Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the urea plant in the city of Mary.
The Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports that the project provides for regular supplies of raw materials and chemicals used in production in accordance with technological standards.
Turkmen state concern previously reported that the plant was launched in 2014 by Kawasaki and Sojitz corporations. The main raw material used in the production process is natural gas. "The commissioning of this plant has made it possible to send significant quantities of granulated urea for export, increasing the country's foreign exchange earnings."
The plant uses advanced technologies. For example, the ammonia production is licensed to Kellog Brown & Root, the urea production is licensed to Stamicarbon and the urea fertiliser granulation is licensed to Uhde Fertilizers Technologies.
Experts told Daryo that all these technologies help to reduce the most extreme demands on plant design, lower energy consumption and production operating costs, and thus lower production costs.
