Uzbekistan's cement industry has experienced significant growth since 2017, with 12 enterprises across 5 regions producing a total of 8.9 mn tons of cement, UzA informed on April 17.
A study conducted by experts from the Institute of Macroeconomic and Territorial Studies sheds light on the development dynamics of Uzbekistan's cement industry from 2017 to 2023. During this period, the establishment of 25 new cement production facilities utilizing energy-saving "dry" technologies has been pivotal. As a result, the total production capacity of these facilities has reached an impressive 26.6 mn tons.
Despite the remarkable growth observed in Uzbekistan's cement production, there remains untapped potential, as evidenced by the 74.1% increase in production volume and a 55.6% rise in production per capita compared to 2017.
Earlier Daryo reported that in January 2024, Uzbekistan’s major enterprises manufactured 627,900 tonnes of cement, marking a 2.3-fold increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
