    Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan foreign ministers sign roadmap for enhanced cooperation

    The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, and his counterpart from Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, convened in Tashkent for the Second Foreign Ministerial Meeting of the Strategic Dialogue “Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council”, on April 14. The meeting was held against the backdrop of strengthening regional ties, witnessed the signing of an agreement – the Roadmap on preparation for the upcoming high-level engagements.

    Throughout the discussions, both ministers underscored the unprecedented level of closely-knit relations between their nations, emphasizing the pivotal role Central Asia plays today in fostering good neighborliness. This sentiment was echoed by Minister Saidov in his telegram channel, where he expressed delight in welcoming Minister Kulubaev to Tashkent for the strategic dialogue.

    The bilateral meeting between the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan delved into various dimensions of their cooperation. They delved into ongoing projects and initiatives aimed at advancing bilateral ties, particularly in sectors such as industry, energy, and agriculture. The ministers also reviewed the progress made in implementing agreements between the presidents of the two nations.

    One of the focal points of the meeting was the synchronization of upcoming foreign policy events at the highest levels. This synchronization ensures that both countries are aligned in their approach to regional and international affairs. The signing of the Roadmap signifies a commitment to prepare thoroughly for upcoming summit meetings, aimed at consolidating previously reached agreements and fostering further development in Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations.

    Particular attention was given to expanding trade volumes and implementing joint projects. The ministers highlighted the need for early initiation of large infrastructure projects in energy and transportation, underscoring the potential for mutual economic growth through such endeavors. Additionally, cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the countries were recognized as vital components in deepening understanding and friendship between their peoples.

    The meeting concluded with an acknowledgment of the importance of strengthened interaction and coordination within specialized international organizations, affirming the commitment of both nations to contribute positively to regional and global affairs.
