Recent developments in Kyrgyzstan have seen the apprehension of members of an international organized criminal group suspected of plotting to assassinate the country's leadership, 24.kg reports. Law enforcement officials successfully arrested five citizens of Azerbaijan believed to be involved in the criminal scheme.
Arrested Suspects
The individuals apprehended by law enforcement authorities are identified as follows:
- Aliyev V.M.
- Baghirov S.A.
- Asgarov M.O.
- Bekhbudrv M.S.
- Mammadov Z.I.
Among the arrested individuals, Asgarov M.O., known in criminal circles as "Brodyaga," is alleged to have orchestrated the assassination plot with the intention of consolidating power within the criminal underworld and enhancing his own standing.
Motives and Criminal Plans
The criminal group's plans were reportedly aimed at undermining the country's policy of combatting organized crime, particularly within the post-Soviet region. The plot emerged against a backdrop of increasing disengagement from criminal ideology and growing support for state policies among inmates, convicts, and rehabilitated individuals. The State Committee clarified that the fear of losing influence prompted foreign criminal leaders to instigate protest through criminal activities.
As investigations into the matter continue, authorities are diligently pursuing leads and gathering evidence to ascertain the full extent of the criminal activities and networks involved.
