Talas Airport, a vital addition to Kyrgyzstan's aviation infrastructure, is poised to commence operations, accommodating up to one hundred passengers per hour, the press service of Manas International Airport reports.
Following an intensive construction period, marked by the laying of its foundation capsule on June 15, 2023, Talas Airport now stands fully operational. Manasbek Samidinov, Chairman of the board of Manas International Airport, personally inspected the site, verifying its readiness to serve both aircraft and passengers.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
The new terminal at Talas Airport boasts modern amenities and infrastructure, tailored to meet the needs of travelers. Equipped with separate arrival and departure halls, the terminal prioritizes accessibility, with provisions for passengers with disabilities. Additionally, the facility includes dedicated spaces such as a mother and child room, ensuring a comfortable experience for all travelers.
Having successfully obtained certifications from the civil aviation authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic, Talas Airport has undergone rigorous checks to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Despite the completion of construction and regulatory approvals, the commencement of flights to Talas Airport faces a temporary setback. The shortage of aircraft from Tez Jet, the current operator of domestic flights in Kyrgyzstan, has delayed the opening of routes to the region. In response, Manas International Airport is exploring alternative solutions, including the utilization of its subsidiary, Asman Airlines, for domestic flight services. Notably, Asman Airlines has recently bolstered its fleet with the acquisition of new aircraft.
Strategic Location and Capacity
Situated at an altitude of 1,266 meters above sea level, Talas Airport is strategically positioned to facilitate domestic air travel within Kyrgyzstan. With a runway capable of accommodating various aircraft and helicopters, including An-2, An-26, An-28, Avro RZh-85, UAE-146, and Yak-40, the airport is poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing regional connectivity and accessibility.
