To propel the innovative development strategy of Uzbekistan forward, the government has passed Resolution No. 128 on March 13, 2024, Lex.uz reported. This resolution outlines key measures aimed at implementing the innovative development strategy for the years 2024-2025, marking a decisive step towards fostering a culture of innovation and technological advancement within the nation.
At the heart of the resolution lies the approval of a comprehensive "Roadmap" designed to guide the execution of the innovative development strategy. This roadmap delineates various activities aimed at fostering innovation across multiple sectors of the economy and society.
Among the initiatives endorsed by the resolution is the widespread implementation of acceleration programs for start-up projects. These programs will be rolled out in innovation centers, technology parks, regional innovation centers, and business incubators within higher education institutions. By providing vital support and resources to budding entrepreneurs and innovators, these initiatives seek to catalyze the growth of the startup ecosystem in Uzbekistan.
Moreover, the resolution underscores the importance of strengthening the integration of science and production. To achieve this, a continuous chain of resource mobilization will be established, fostering closer collaboration between research institutions and industries. This integration is poised to drive innovation by facilitating the seamless transition of research findings into practical applications and products.
Recognizing the pivotal role of youth in driving innovation, the resolution also paves the way for the establishment of youth innovation technology parks. These parks will serve as hubs for prototyping innovative ideas and organizing small-scale production runs, providing young innovators with the necessary infrastructure and support to bring their ideas to fruition.
Additionally, the resolution emphasizes the need for modernizing scientific organizations to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness. A model system for modernization will be developed and tested, aiming to streamline management practices and scientific activities within these organizations.
Furthermore, the resolution aims to introduce highly effective innovations in selected districts, fostering local development and economic growth through technological advancement.
