Woman beats 6-year-old niece to death in Uzbekistan
In the Bukinsky district of the Tashkent region, a six-year-old girl died after sustaining severe physical abuse inflicted by her aunt. The incident occurred at 1 am on March 12, as confirmed by Khayot Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan, the National Social Protection Agency reported on March 19.
The girl had been left in the care of her 35-year-old aunt, identified as N.I., by her parents who are currently residing in Russia. Allegedly, the aunt subjected the child to harsh punishment, claiming the girl had not completed her homework and had deceived her. The abuse included pinching and beating with hands and a wooden stick, resulting in serious bodily harm.
Following the incident, the investigative department at the Bukinsky District Department of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, pertaining to intentional grievous bodily harm. The aunt was taken into custody the following day for further investigation.
Despite receiving medical care at the district medical association's intensive care unit, the girl passed away on March 15th. Pre-investigation measures are currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
