Uzbekistan adopted a Presidential decision aimed at improving the quality and management of statistical data to align its statistical practices with global standards, notably those set by the United Nations Organization, "Legal Information" channel on Telegram reports.
Implementation Measures
The decision outlines several key measures to be implemented until the end of 2024 to ensure the incorporation of fundamental principles advocated by the United Nations into Uzbekistan's national statistical system.
Firstly, statistical information generated by official statistical preparers will be structured based on the Standard Model of Statistical Information Development (GSBPM). Additionally, organizational steps will be taken to fully implement quality management manuals recommended by the UN.
Quality Management Initiatives
To uphold the quality and dissemination of official statistics, each producer of official statistics will devise quality and dissemination policies. Furthermore, a National Quality Assurance Frameworks Manual will be crafted, drawing upon the manual endorsed by the UN (NQAF).
Moreover, a comprehensive assessment of the national statistical system will be conducted globally, with the findings made public.
Future Engagement and Integration
Starting January 1, 2025, consulting firms, higher education institutions, and research institutes will be actively engaged in the statistical monitoring process. By the culmination of 2024, electronic data interchange will be established between the "Statistics" integrated information system and the Interagency integration platform of the "Electronic Government" system. This integration aims to streamline data exchange processes and enhance the efficiency of statistical operations.
