Starting July 1, 2024, enterprises embarking on production with renowned international brands will adhere to rigorous international standards, but will also be exempt from customs duty for three years under the condition of reaching 60% localization of production. Additionally, the procedure for covering the costs of environmental certification will be introduced, underscoring Uzbekistan's commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices.
Customs Duty Exemptions:
In a bid to incentivize local production, all raw materials required for products manufactured under prestigious international brands will be exempted from customs duty for a duration of three years. This exemption will be granted on the condition that the level of localization reaches a minimum threshold of 60%. Such measures aim to stimulate domestic manufacturing and foster economic growth.
Expert Recruitment:
Enterprises partnering with prestigious international brands will have access to a pool of skilled professionals, including technologists and designers, recruited from renowned global entities. This exchange of expertise is expected to elevate the standards of product design and innovation within Uzbekistan's manufacturing sector.
Fee Waivers for Certification:
Furthermore, the government has announced the cancellation of fees for experts, such as marketers, involved in obtaining certification to conduct activities within the Uzbekistan market. This decision aims to streamline regulatory processes and facilitate the entry of international brands into the country's commercial landscape.
