Kusto Logistics Management LLP, a subsidiary of the international conglomerate Kusto Group, acquired a controlling stake in the prominent Kazakh logistics company MKS Logystics LLP in February 2024.
Acquisition Details:
The acquisition marks a significant milestone for both parties. MKS Logystics LLP, a leader in the field, has been serving the logistics needs of large enterprises in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan for over 15 years. With operations spanning across 16 warehouse complexes in key cities such as Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Aktobe, and Tashkent, MKS Logystics has established itself as a trusted provider of outsourcing logistics services, specializing in acceptance, processing, storage, and transportation of cargo in the 3PL+ format.
Investment and Development:
In January 2024, Kusto Group and MKS Logystics LLP jointly injected capital into the latter to fuel business expansion initiatives. The investment focuses on diversifying logistics services, enhancing local transport capabilities, implementing innovative technologies in logistics operations, upgrading the Warehouse Management System (WMS) IT platform, and introducing fulfillment services, among others. This strategic collaboration is poised to elevate MKS Logystics to new heights of growth and financial stability, bolstering customer confidence and satisfaction.
Expansion and Future Plans:
This acquisition comes on the heels of Kusto Logistics Management LLP's investment in long-haul logistics services through its subsidiary Kusto Logistics LLP in the latter half of 2023. With a focus on enhancing both local and international rail and road transportation, Kusto Group aims to expand its rolling stock fleet and develop industrial logistics services in the near future. The overarching strategic objective is to establish a comprehensive ecosystem integrating mainline railway and road transportation with local logistics, facilitated through warehouse and railway terminal infrastructure.
Infrastructure Development:
Looking ahead, Kusto Logistics Management LLP has outlined ambitious infrastructure development plans for the period 2024-2026. These plans entail the construction of proprietary logistics centers in major cities across Kazakhstan. These centers will comprise container terminals, state-of-the-art warehouses of various classifications, temporary storage areas, and fulfillment centers equipped with advanced technologies and automation systems.
