Kazakhstan is gearing up to bolster its presence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market as a trade mission of commodity producers and service providers from the country is slated to take place in Dubai from February 27 to 29, the Ministry of Trade and Integration reported.
Organized by the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan in collaboration with QazTrade, the operator of state support measures for exports, the event aims to facilitate negotiations between Kazakh entrepreneurs and potential partners in Dubai's business sphere.
The highlight of the trade and economic mission will be the launch of an exhibition and demonstration site, along with a co-working space for IT and oil service companies, on February 28. These facilities will be set up within the National Pavilion of Kazakhstan at "EXPO Dubai-2020," with the presence of Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev and representatives from UAE government organizations. This platform offers Kazakhstani companies an opportunity to showcase their products and services to the UAE market.
The UAE market presents promising prospects for Kazakh exports, particularly in sectors such as the food industry, agriculture, metallurgy, IT, and new technologies. With 53% of UAE residents preferring organic products, there is a growing demand for natural food and beverages, offering a lucrative avenue for Kazakh producers.
Building on the success of the previous trade mission to Dubai in 2023, where agreements were inked for the supply of dietary supplements, agricultural products, mineral water, confectionery, and IT services, Kazakhstan aims to further expand its export portfolio in the UAE.
During discussions with Mohamed Saeed Mohamed Alariqii, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to Kazakhstan, Minister Shakkaliyev highlighted Kazakhstan's readiness to boost non-commodity exports by $233.5mn across 40 commodity items.
The upcoming trade mission will facilitate bilateral business-to-business negotiations and on-site meetings between Kazakh entrepreneurs and Arab business representatives, fostering knowledge exchange and expanding networks.
QazTrade, the state-owned enterprise providing support measures to small and medium-sized businesses, covers accommodation and transfer costs for participants during the event. Operating under the Ministry of Trade and Integration, QazTrade plays a pivotal role in enhancing Kazakhstan's export potential by reimbursing part of the costs incurred in exporting processed goods and marketing non-raw materials.
