Uzbekistan’s boxing team secured six medals at the Boxam International Tournament 2024, as confirmed by the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. The tournament took place in La Nucia, a municipality in Spain.
Gold Medalists
Four boxers from Uzbekistan, Mujibillo Tursunov, Khavasbek Abdullayev, Turabek Khabibullayev, and Shokhjahon Abdullayev, outperformed their competitors and clinched gold medals.
Bronze Medalists
Ruslan Abdullaev and Lazizbek Mullajonov also had a commendable performance, each winning a bronze medal.
Asian Cup Quarter-Final Recap
Earlier, it was reported that on February 3, in the quarter-final match of the Asian Cup, Qatar outperformed Uzbekistan with a score of 3:2 in the execution of eleven strikes. The Qatari team took the lead in the 27th minute of the game due to an unfortunate intervention by Uzbekistan’s goalkeeper, Utkir Yusupov.
Equalizing the Score
In the 59th minute, Odil Khamrobekov managed to level the score by accurately striking the opponent’s goal. However, the teams could not determine the winner in regulation time and extra time.
Penalty Shootout
The match was ultimately decided in a penalty shootout, where Qatar emerged victorious over Uzbekistan.
