As part of the Digital Bridge Almaty event, a pivotal panel session "Creative Industries: Promotion of Creative Products and Services" took place on February 3 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Culture and Information reported.
The forum gathered experts to deliberate on the latest trends and strategies within the creative industries, sharing experiences from neighboring countries and addressing crucial issues related to supporting strategic initiatives in the field.
Creative industries offer unique opportunities for bolstering non-resource exports and introducing innovative approaches to small and medium-sized businesses. This, in turn, plays a vital role in nurturing the development of the middle class—a key element in sustainable economic growth.
“Kazakhstan has achieved significant success in the field of digitalization, GovTech, and IT development, confidently leading among the Central Asian countries,” the Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, Bagdat Musin voiced.
Bagdat Musin highlights that the country's sustained growth has transformed it into a regional economic powerhouse, leading to improved living standards and a poverty reduction, marked by an impressive average annual growth rate of 5%.
The minister also emphasized the achievements of thriving Kazakhstani IT startups based in the international technopark Astana Hub. Currently, 12 regional technoparks have been established, following the President's directive to replicate the success of Astana Hub.
The panel discussions delved into the pivotal role of platforms in promoting creative products, emphasizing their impact on monetization and the diversification of creative ideas. Experts underscored the significance of government support in stimulating the growth of creative industries.
Digital Bridge Almaty 2024, themed "Industry X: digital evolution of the future," spanned three days and featured over 40 panel sessions with 200 speakers. The panel session on Creative Industries, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, attracted the attention of more than 450 visitors.
This event aligns with the larger vision outlined by the head of state, focusing on creating conditions for the extensive development of the creative economy. This includes the implementation of legal instruments for the protection of intellectual property, the establishment of creative industry centers, and the formulation of a comprehensive set of measures to support professionals in this dynamic field.
