In a development for educational collaboration between South Korea and Uzbekistan, Sunmun University has unveiled plans to open a branch in the Syrdarya region. The news was reported by the Dunyo news agency on February 2.

Origin of the Proposal
The proposal to establish a branch of Sunmun University in Uzbekistan was initially put forward during the Uzbek delegation's trip to South Korea in December of the previous year. The university president, Son Jae Moon, confirmed his commitment to this initiative and solidified the partnership by signing a memorandum of cooperation with the regional khokimiyat (city administration).
One distinctive feature of the upcoming educational institution is its commitment to fully integrating the educational process with production. This innovative approach aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, providing students with hands-on experience and preparing them for real-world challenges.
Looking ahead, there are plans to develop an educational cluster based on the university, focusing on training specialists for various industrial sectors.
Sunmun University, founded in 1972 by entrepreneur and religious leader Sun Myung Moon, has grown to encompass seven main areas and 13 departments. The university's diverse academic offerings include engineering, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, IT, and tourism.
Earlier Daryo reported that officials from the education department of Gyeongbuk City in the Republic of Korea recently visited the Department of Preschool and School Education in Bukhara region, Uzbekistan. The discussions primarily revolved around the instruction of the Korean language in schools within Bukhara, the prevailing conditions for students, and the notable outcomes derived from collaborative projects and competitions. It is noteworthy that both students and educators have actively engaged in diverse initiatives conducted through the joint efforts of Uzbekistan and Korea.
