A group of more than 60 students from the Republic of Korea recently concluded their visit to Uzbekistan, participating in the International Winter School 2024 program, the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan reported. The initiative, a testament to the strong educational cooperation between Ajou universities in South Korea and Tashkent city, aimed to foster cultural exchange and deepen understanding between the two nations.
The students were treated to an immersive experience, starting with lectures at Ajou University in Tashkent delivered by Professor Saodat Davlatova and renowned choreographer Gulandon Kuronboyeva. The lectures provided insights into Uzbekistan's rich history, vibrant culture, and the intricacies of its dance art. As part of their cultural exploration, the delegation embarked on a guided tour of Tashkent, visiting landmarks such as the Hazrati Imam complex, the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan, and the iconic Tashkent TV Tower.
The journey continued to the historic city of Samarkand, where the students marveled at the architectural wonders of Registan Square, explored the mausoleums of Amir Temur and Bibi Khanum, and delved into the spiritual ambiance of the Shakhi Zinda complex.
In addition to the cultural immersion, the delegation gained valuable insights into Uzbekistan's socio-economic landscape through meetings with various organizations. Representatives from UNICEF, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, and the Korea International Cooperation Agency in Uzbekistan shared their perspectives, fostering a better understanding of the country's development initiatives and international collaborations.
