On January 26, a virtual meeting took place between Muzaffar Madrakhimov, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, and Carolyn Lamm, the Chairman of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC), MFA press service reports.
Pledging support for AUCC
The Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan expressed its readiness to support the activities of the AUCC. The aim is to develop bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as to strengthen direct ties between the business communities of the two countries.
Attracting American investment
The meeting also discussed the prospects for attracting American investment and advanced technologies for the implementation of joint projects in Uzbekistan. The focus was particularly on the field of agriculture, food, textile, and chemical industries.
Future collaborations
An exchange of views took place on organizing the next round of the Uzbek-American Business Forum. The discussion also included inviting representatives of the U.S. business community to economic events planned in Uzbekistan, including the 3rd Tashkent International Investment Forum.
