New Consul General of Uzbekistan, Kamol Ikramov, assumes duties in Dubai
Kamol Ikramov, the newly appointed Consul General of Uzbekistan in the Emirate of Dubai, initiated discussions with Sheikh Maktoum bin Butti Al Maktoum, the Director of the Dubai Office of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dunyo news agency reported on January 26.
During the meeting, Consul General Kamol Ikramov presented his consular patent. The central focus of the discussions between the two officials was on the current state of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
Both parties expressed a keen interest in exploring the prospects for future development and cooperation. The dialogue encompassed various sectors, highlighting the mutual commitment to expanding collaboration in economics, trade, investment, high technology, innovation, industrial cooperation, agriculture, energy, transport, tourism, science, and culture.
Kamol Ikramov succeeds Alisher Salomov as the Consul General in Dubai. Alisher Salomov headed the Consulate General from 2019 to 2024. The consular district of the Consulate General in Dubai includes the emirates of Dubai, Sharjah, Ras al-Khaimah, Ajman, Um al-Quwain, and Fujairah.
Earlier Daryo reported that, from February 16 onwards, citizens of Uzbekistan will enjoy the privilege of entering the UAE without a visa for up to 30 days.
At 44 years old, Kamol Ikramov brings a diplomatic experience to his role as Consul General. Prior to his assignment in Dubai, he served as the Consul General of Uzbekistan in New York from 2018 to 2023.
