Uzbekistan's BMB Holding has been granted the coveted USDA Organic certificate, paving the way for saffron exports to the United States. The accreditation follows a meticulous year-long scrutiny of the product's cultivation processes by Euro Cert experts.
The company, buoyed by its newfound certification, is gearing up to introduce its saffron to American consumers under the distinguished brand name 'BMB Za’faron.' This marks a strategic move into the U.S. market for the Uzbek company.
International Quality Recognition
Before setting its sights on the American states, BMB Za’faron saffron underwent rigorous testing in esteemed European laboratories. These include Analisi Chimiche Ed Ecologiche Sas and Laboratori di Ricerche Analitiche e Tecnologiche su Alimenti e Ambiente in Italy, QC LAB McCormick France in France, and Chong Kiningson in the Republic of Korea. The extensive testing regimen culminated in the saffron being awarded a prestigious quality certificate of category I.
Bolstering Medicinal Plantations in Uzbekistan
In a broader context, Uzbekistan is gearing up for an ambitious agricultural venture. By 2026, the country aims to establish new plantations spanning 36,000 hectares dedicated to cultivating medicinal plants. Licorice, saffron, ferula, chamomile, rose hips, St. John's wort, among others, will find a nurturing environment in these expanses, further contributing to the nation's agricultural diversity.
The attainment of the USDA Organic certificate positions BMB Holding as a key player in Uzbekistan's export landscape, showcasing the nation's commitment to producing premium-quality, organically certified products for international markets.
