The Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration in Kyrgyzstan has reported significant developments in the employment sector based on the results of 2023, 24.kg reports. According to the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration, the number of registered unemployed individuals decreased by 7%, resulting in 91,600 people being unemployed in 2023.
Remarkably, the employment services facilitated the employment of 16,700 Kyrgyz citizens during the year, marking a 6% increase in employed unemployed individuals.
Impact of measures on unemployment rate
The ministry emphasized that the implementation of targeted measures led to a notable decline in the overall unemployment rate. As a result, the unemployment rate stood at 4.9% by the end of 2023, showcasing a 0.4% reduction from the corresponding period in 2022.
Furthermore, official data from the National Statistical Committee indicated an unemployment rate of 2.5% across the republic, reflecting a 0.4% decrease compared to the same period in 2022.
