Bobur Abdikhalikov, a striker for the Uzbek team, was the star of the match, scoring the only goal. Despite being awarded a penalty in the last minutes of the second half, the Uzbek players were unable to extend their lead.
Road to 2023 Asian Cup
The 2023 Asian Cup, which is the 18th edition of the football tournament among the national teams of the Asian Football Confederation, is set to take place from January 12 to February 10 in Qatar. The reigning champions, the Qatar national team, are set to defend their title on home soil. China was initially slated to host the tournament, but due to a COVID-19 outbreak in May 2022, they withdrew their hosting rights.
Uzbekistan’s journey in tournament
Uzbekistan has been drawn into Group “C”, alongside Australia, Syria, and India. Their campaign will begin with a match against Syria on January 13 at 22:30 (GMT +3). Following this, Uzbekistan will face India on January 18, and Australia on January 23.
