The Uzbekistan youth (Olympic) football team secured a significant victory against Hong Kong in the match for the bronze medal at the Asian Games. The encounter, held on October 7 in Hangzhou, China, concluded with a score of 4-0.
Towards the end of the first half, in the 43rd minute, forward Alisher Odilov accurately struck from outside the penalty area, despite being surrounded by four opponents, and the goalkeeper's lack of response.
The score doubled in the 49th minute following a successful counterattack, finished by striker Husain Norchaev. Ten minutes later, he completed a brace by being in the right place after a corner kick.
In the 75th minute, defender Alibek Davronov redirected the ball into the opponent's net after a free-kick shot.
As a result, Uzbekistan won an Asian Games medal for the first time since 1994, when the national team clinched the gold.
Earlier, the Uzbekistan women's national team suffered a 7-0 defeat to China in the match for the third place. This marked the first participation of Uzbekistan's female footballers in the Asian Games.
