Restart of sales
UzAuto Motors, a leading automaker in Uzbekistan, has announced the resumption of sales for its Chevrolet Cobalt, Damas, and Labo models. The company has opened online contracts for these models, which are part of the total production volume planned for 2024.
Pricing details
The prices for these models will remain at the current level. The basic configuration of Cobalt will cost UZS 124.3 mn ($10,012), UZS Damas 93.2 mn ($7,512), and Labo UZS 93.8 mn ($7,560).
Suspension of popular models
Since December 2022, UzAuto Motors has suspended ordering for the four most popular models. The company’s press service explained the pause due to problems with the supply of electronic components and components. The automaker has put up limited batches of cars for sale several times. In August, the company resumed sales of Damas, Labo, Lacetti, and Cobalt for a few days, signing about 51,000 contracts.
New prices and updates
Another batch was offered to customers in September and sold out within a few hours. In October, the company announced new prices for four mass models, as well as for the Captiva crossover. The company once again opened a contract for Captiva, Cobalt, Damas, Labo, Onix, and Tracker models on November 3. However, there are currently no Cobalt, Damas, and Labo on the UzAuto Motors website.
Online sales system
Buyers were recommended to place orders online to avoid queues at car dealerships. The automaker denied rumours of fraud in the sale of cars, but later admitted problems with orders via the Internet and announced the update of the online sales system.
Future plans
UzAuto Motors will stop producing Lacetti cars from 2024 as this decision aligns with the global trade policy of General Motors.
