The Association of Entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan has made its debut in Poland, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of Uzbekistan’s business interests abroad. The association, led by Nizomiddin Abdullayev, the head of Eletto Sp. z o.o. has unveiled plans to establish a trading house in Poland dedicated to the sale of Uzbek wine, as Kursiv reports.
The decision to form the association was made during a meeting at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Warsaw, attended by Uzbek businessmen operating in Poland. During the meeting, Abdullayev outlined plans to conduct an in-depth analysis of the Polish wine market and subsequently open a specialized national trading house for the sale of Uzbek wine. Should the demand prove high, the association plans to organize advertising campaigns to further promote its products.
Uzbekistan, a country with a rich history of winemaking, is the main wine-producing country in Central Asia. The country’s favourable climate and fertile soils contribute to the cultivation of over 37 varieties of grapes across various zones. In 2022, Uzbekistan produced 1.6 mn tons of grapes, securing its position as the fourth-largest grape producer in the world.
Uzbekistan is home to a diverse array of over 300 grape varieties, with efforts focused on exploring new flavours and recipes being made by both amateur winemakers and commercial enterprises. While not all grape types are cultivated on a large scale, these endeavours serve to uphold and preserve the cherished viticultural traditions of Uzbekistan.
