The recently appointed Uzbekistan ambassador has formally presented a copy of his credentials to the Protocol Department's Director General, Maria Sebastian de Erice, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Spain, Dunyo reports.
In their discussions, Ambassador Farrukh Tursunov and Maria Sebastian de Erice delved into the current state and future possibilities of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the abundant potential between the two nations. Both parties expressed a commitment to translating this potential into tangible outcomes. The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain regular and ongoing dialogue.
Ambassador Tursunov, who arrived in Madrid on December 7 from Tashkent, is a seasoned diplomat with 50 years of age. With a career spanning since 1994 within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs system, he has previously served as the head of Uzbekistan's embassies in Kazakhstan (2008-2012) and Japan (2012-2017). Since 2018, he has held leadership positions, overseeing the General Department of Strategic Analysis and Forecasting, along with the Department of Aggregate Information and Analysis.
Earlier, it was reported that the previous Ambassador to Spain, Jahongir Ganiev, concluded his diplomatic tenure and had a meeting with Spanish Secretary of State Angeles Morena Bau, which highlighted his significant contributions to fostering sustainable bilateral relations.
