Uzbekistan bolsters ties with South Korea in high-level talks on innovation and green energy

In a diplomatic move, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, engaged in high-level talks with the Secretary to the President of the Republic of Korea for Economic Security, Wang Yunjong, on December 12, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported. The meeting underscored the growing strength of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and South Korea, addressing key areas of mutual interest and cooperation.

The discussions touched upon a wide range of topics, emphasizing the deepening relations between the two nations on both bilateral and multilateral fronts. Technological and investment cooperation took center stage during the talks, reflecting the shared commitment to fostering innovation and economic growth.

One of the focal points of the meeting was the promotion of joint projects in green energy—a critical area of global concern. Both Uzbekistan and South Korea expressed their commitment to advancing environmentally sustainable initiatives, aligning with international efforts to combat climate change.

This diplomatic meeting comes on the heels of a recent expert forum held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, "Strategic Dialogue between Central Asia and the Republic of Korea: Prospects for Mutually Beneficial Cooperation." The forum, organized collaboratively by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan (ISRS) and the Center for International Area Studies at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, aimed at fostering stronger ties and cooperation between Central Asia and South Korea.

The event served as a platform for prominent figures from diplomatic missions, expert analytical circles, and academic institutions in Central Asia and South Korea to engage in meaningful discussions. The participants explored avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation, laying the groundwork for enhanced collaboration across various sectors.
