The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has officially announced the commencement of the evacuation process for citizens from the Gaza Strip, Tengrinews reports. Aybek Smadiyarov, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the initial group of evacuees, consisting of 44 individuals, is set to be evacuated on November 13.
This group comprises 40 Kazakh citizens and four individuals from other countries, along with their family members. The total number of people expected to pass through the Rafah checkpoint on this day is 594, including 44 Kazakh citizens.
Smadiyarov highlighted that, in addition to Kazakhstan, citizens from nine other countries are scheduled for evacuation. These countries include Morocco, Jordan, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Peru, the Netherlands, Great Britain, and Switzerland.
The evacuation process will unfold through the Rafah checkpoint, situated between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. The Kazakh citizens will undergo checkpoint procedures, travel by land to Cairo, and stay in a designated hotel. After the verification of the necessary documents, they will be repatriated to Kazakhstan.
"Diplomats from Kazakhstan have already departed for Cairo. They have successfully navigated all checkpoints and are approaching Rafah. Upon their arrival, Egyptian authorities, in collaboration with representatives from the Gaza Strip government, will initiate the document verification process, enabling the gradual evacuation of our citizens," concluded the official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
