A delegation led by Donald Lu, who serves as the assistant to the US Secretary of State for South and Central Asian affairs, has arrived in Uzbekistan. On November 7, he held a meeting with Bakhtiyor Saidov, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
During the third meeting of the Strategic Partnership Dialogue between Uzbekistan and the USA, which was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, discussions revolved around a wide range of cooperation topics. They also identified priority areas, with a special focus on initiatives aimed at fostering regional economic prosperity, as stated by Donald Lu on his social media page.
"Today, during the third meeting of the Strategic Partnership Dialogue between Uzbekistan and the USA, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, we discussed the broad agenda of our cooperation and determined priority areas, especially the directions aimed at ensuring regional economic prosperity," - wrote Donald Lu.
Prior to this, the US State Department had announced that the delegation led by Donald Lu would be visiting Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and India.
The main objectives of the delegation include reinforcing the agreements made during the C5+1 presidential summit held in September during the UN General Assembly and the C5+1 ministerial meeting on regional relations that took place in October. It was also mentioned that the visit to India is intended to facilitate preparations for and support the US-India 2+2 ministerial dialogue.
