An Iranian-Turkmen tourism festival is being held in Ashgabat, where the folk art, national cuisine, traditions and handicrafts of the two countries will be presented.
Promoting the tourism potential of Turkmenistan and Iran is the main goal of the festival, Turkmenportal reports.An exhibition of handicrafts and carpets was held in the exhibition hall of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan.
The Tehran Times reports that mutual cultural exchanges have gained growth following a meeting between the two countries' presidents last year.
Navid Rasuli, Iran’s Cultural Attaché to Turkmenistan, said the event is expected to include the signing of new agreements between the two countries' tour operators. The festival features sections on medical tourism as well.
