On October 23, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov engaged in discussions with Tereza Chervinskaya, the Vice President of the European Investment Bank, during his visit to Luxembourg.
He expressed his pleasure at meeting Mrs. Teresa Czervinska, the Vice President of the European Investment Bank, and emphasized the importance of their candid conversation regarding future collaboration in diverse promising domains, encompassing macroeconomic prosperity and sustainable energy. Minister Saidov extended gratitude to the European Investment Bank for its ongoing support of Uzbekistan's reform program and welcomed the opening of its representative office in Tashkent.
Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov's visit to Luxembourg was in conjunction with the 19th "European Union - Central Asia" ministerial meeting, where ministers assessed the achievements resulting from their comprehensive cooperation and outlined key priorities for the upcoming year.
Furthermore, during his visit, Minister Saidov engaged in meetings with various foreign dignitaries, including Jutta Urpilainen, the Commissioner for International Cooperation of the European Union. He also discussed bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Austria with Alexander Schallenberg, the Federal Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of Austria. Discussions were held with representatives of the business communities of their respective nations alongside the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luminita Odobescu, aimed at fostering further development in bilateral relations.
Substantive conversations took place with Mariya Gabriel, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, focusing on unlocking the substantial potential of Uzbek-Bulgarian relations. Additionally, collaboration with Margus Tsahkna, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, was addressed, specifically regarding expanding trade and economic cooperation and importing Estonia's advanced expertise in digital technologies to Uzbekistan.
Talks with Gabrielius Landsbergis, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, resulted in a consensus to take joint measures aimed at enhancing political dialogue and expanding cooperation in trade, investment, transport and logistics, education, and other fields.
In discussions with Jose Manuel Albares, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, matters pertaining to modernizing communication systems in the transport sector, intensifying collaboration in tourism and education, and organizing future joint events were explored.
The agenda of the meeting with João Gomes Cravinho, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, encompassed reinforcing political dialogue, invigorating trade, economic, and investment cooperation, and accelerating cultural and tourism exchanges.
