The agreement on cooperation regarding climate change, was jointly signed by the governments of Uzbekistan and South Korea on June 1, 2023, in Tashkent. The Ministry of Economy and Finance is designated as the responsible authority for implementing this international agreement.
The "Legal Information" Telegram channel reports on the adoption of a presidential decision approving this particular agreement on October 20.
Upon the entry into force of this agreement, it is incumbent upon the Cabinet of Ministers and the heads of relevant ministries and departments to oversee and ensure compliance with its provisions.
The agreement was signed between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Korea Park Jin.
"We signed an agreement between our governments on climate change cooperation with South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin," the MFA of Uzbekistan posted on his Telegram channel.
Notably, during the annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund held in Morocco, representatives from the Government of Uzbekistan and the World Bank entered into an agreement for financial support amounting to $46.25mn.
